FiF, Jr: Week 13

Week 13: Lighting the marquee and more

Wow! It’s been a while. Dad and I started working again earlier a couple weeks ago in the summer. Since Winter was largely useless, it’s nice to get back at it. Since my last update we’ve firmly attached the front pieces like the speaker grill and lower bezel board. I also started creating the control panel fully, by drilling out the holes and attaching the controls. I even wired them up to test with. Again, I used molex connectors on each end so that I could easily plug and unplug the control panel should I ever need to. That was a LOT of work, but really fun to learn and I’m glad I did it. We also installed a marquee light. I just bought a cheap fluorescent light bulb that was about the right width from Wal-Mart. It lights it up just fine! Next thing to do is mount the monitor which we’ve got a pretty decent start on, but getting the angle just right might be a little tricky.
